All cups in this collection are high-fired to 1260ºC. Each begins as 450g of raw white stoneware clay, wedged with stained clays to create the spiral marble effect. Through throwing, trimming, drying, bisque firing, sanding, glazing and finishing, each cup settles to around 250g. The weight and thick walls give a sturdy, grounded feel in the hand.
A transparent glaze coats the exterior to reveal the marble effect and the colour separation, while a dark brown glaze coats the interior to bring a strong visual contrast to the cup.
High firing ensures durability, making the cups dishwasher safe, though handwashing is recommended to preserve their longevity. Please handle with care — each piece is unique.
